Firstly I would like to thank you for my little treasure… Mazie.
I was lucky enough to be moving into my own house with stables and 6 acres (big enough garden for any Springer!!) and persuaded my boyfriend who I may add has never had a pet of any nature before that I wanted a dog again after loosing my Jack Russel 6 years previous. We came to the decision that a spring was the dog for us… the search began.
After many months trawling the web and viewing many sites we couldn’t find a breeder that felt right and didn’t want to buy a pup for buying sake. We needed to be sure that we were buying a pup from a breeder where the welfare is paramount.
I came across Babbinsbriar via a gundog site and was immediately impressed by the professional layout. By chance had a 3 weeks old litter of springers for sale… I do hope they have a liver and white bitch!!! There she was.. I knew straight away that she was the one, without hesitation I phoned and left a message for Charlotte, all I needed to do now was call John and tell him I had found Mazie.
Charlotte called me back and confirmed that they did have 1 L&W bitch ans we talked through the requirements, this equally impressed me Charlotte wanted to know wht kind of home/life I was looking to give their pup… demonstrates the love and welfare of their animals. So we arranged to drive down 3 days latter to spend time with Charlotte and Mazie to ensure that we bonded and that we were making the right choice. On arriving we were given a worm and friendly welcome ad met Mazie and another bitch and we instantly knew she was the one, very bold… she ran straight up to John and took hold of his arm… love at first bite!!
We now had to wait 4 weeks before we could take her home and during this time Charlotte kept us up to date with Mazie’s progress along with photo’s. It was now time to take Mazie home and on collection day we were given excellent advise along with records and an information park of her care to date and do not hesitate to call if we needed further advise… one bit of advice Charlotte did give us was not to be too worried if her behaviour becomes a little subdued this would be due to the travelling and separation from the others, this was not the case. She trotted into the kitchen straight into her awaiting bed with toys and immediately knew this was home. She picked up house training within 3 days.
Mazie is a very bold little girl and is a real pleasure, she is extremely intelligent and intrigued (nozzy) by everyone and everything, we’ve done all the classes and is so willing and tentative to learn, she is a typical cheeky spaniel, socks is her thing!! She is loved by everyone, people always comment on how pretty she is. She is my spotty dotty nosed spring dingy thing!!
I would again like to thank Charlotte and everyone involved for the 1st class service, friendliness and dog we have received from Babbinsbriar I would advise anybody to look first at Babbinsbriar when considering purchasing a dog. Mazie is currently curled up fast asleep after spending and exhausting Xmas in Scotland with her 6 Doggy cousins.
